Because you just wrote that... mine has only been running since the end of November and practically constantly. However, it still has 661 switching cycles after 1659 operating hours. As far as I can see, this comes together due to defrost cycles every 3-5 hours. And it switches off for a few minutes after each hot water cycle (I have limited it to two cycles per day).
Is that "normal"?

I am not familiar with IDM. Otherwise, just inquire directly with IDM. Maybe the shutdown after the hot water cycle is just a program error and can be fixed with an update.
