Well, you probably have a massive increase in consumption compared to a proper setting. And then you prefer to save on comfort, which probably doesn’t even remotely compensate for the extra consumption caused by the poor setting. Besides, the heat pump will break down faster... A somewhat odd but not entirely inappropriate comparison: It’s like driving a car with the handbrake half-engaged, flooring it repeatedly in second gear. But instead of releasing the brake, shifting two gears higher, and driving more smoothly, you’d rather be annoyed by high fuel costs and only drive 30 mph outside town to save fuel. And after a few years, you’re annoyed because the car has such high repair costs.

I also had much higher consumption with the “factory settings” of our heating technician. after optimization with the help of the forum 10000x more efficient

Ours is really meticulously adjusted, but this Novelan junk currently doesn’t deliver more than 3 to 4 as COP. And yes, the loops in the ground are tight and meticulously laid, etc....

That's surprising, what model do you have? Currently, with still mild temperatures in heating mode, it should easily be over 4.
