With gas, it's pretty clear, where should an advantage come from?
With an air-to-water heat pump, it's different.
It benefits both from higher outside temperatures and, if available, the use of one’s own photovoltaic electricity.
The photovoltaic thing is tricky. Today (and also yesterday) looks great, but otherwise, for example, I haven’t produced even 20kWh in the last 30 days. I’ve practically produced more in the last 1.5 days than in the whole of December (valley of darkness).
It’s estimated that of the 32kWh, about 5kWh were used for the electric car to get to work today :-).
But as you see, even a storage system doesn’t help here. When the heat pump needs to run, that’s the end of it.
