So we are significantly reducing the terrace area...
We'll discuss it.
I have another idea... further down...
The plan would be to take the remaining roof area towards the south. I guess you’re asking because the area is too small?
No, just like that. There are quite a few windows up there anyway.
That is exactly the thing and certainly a controversial element. Basically, we think the idea with the glass wall towards the wardrobe is great. We thought that we could counter it with a nice curtain if needed.
Curtain?
Well, looking at the wardrobe while you relax in the living room in the evening isn’t a good idea.
Why would anyone want to look at their winter shoes? Or the yellow bag or crate of drinks that is parked there in between?
Or why would your wife’s female friends want to see you slouching on the sofa in front of the TV with chips when saying goodbye in the evening?! …
There really isn’t a situation that is great when looking into the hallway of the house.
Yes, this is a challenge we still need to crack, possibly with corresponding doors on the upper floor.
Hmm... if that is still a challenge for you, then there should be a partition wall. That would be doable.
Honestly, we haven’t decided on that finally yet. We’re currently considering whether to bring in an interior designer for certain things.
Hm!
Let’s be honest: do you think an interior designer shows you the best way to sit at your TV? According to him, there won’t be one at all ;) Just kidding.
But seriously: a house does change your daily routine somewhat, especially regarding comfort and garden—meaning outdoor connection.
But it doesn’t make you a different person.
If you like to slouch on the sofa, you will want to enjoy that in the new house as well. That’s why the interior designer may suggest the color and style of the sofa, but not question its existence. And general life experience, orthopedics, and medicine would advise you about the interaction between seating furniture and TV anyway.
Actually, your statement regarding the glass wardrobe even confused me. I remember you are quite young and the imagination is maybe not very developed?!
But never mind.
My suggestion: there should be a partition wall between the stairs and the hallway upstairs. I think it would also look better from below. In my opinion, there are two possibilities there.
Also, I would switch the living room with the kitchen again. You can easily go through the dining room to the terrace when you want to sit there. Or through the short side of the wardrobe. I could imagine the view of the pool being better from the living room, and the location of kitchen/entrance is also smoother. The living room has more privacy and is less a traffic area. That then goes to the kitchen. Also, AB could be better used via the kitchen as well as the more direct location to the stairs.
If I have time, I’ll draw it with the wall and the switch.
