When I think of airspace, if airspace is considered, then it should be large. So the size you have in mind will certainly have an effect, but with the disadvantages of wasted space ;), the lights, and one should also examine something like that. At the dining table, it would be too echoey for me and not cozy enough.

Photovoltaics are just difficult because your roof is quite fragmented due to the many skylights, which hinders good surface utilization. One would have to calculate how modules can be accommodated there.

Unfortunately, we have no good alternative to the 1-full-story variant. As it is now, we can comfortably extend the floor area on the ground floor (including the granny flat) to 217m2. If we go for the 2-full-story variant, we only have "155m2" per level. That breaks the ground floor concept.

Do you have to build with solar, because as already written here, it becomes very jagged and not pretty if you have to or want to install photovoltaics. That it is desirable to have photovoltaics nowadays is completely unquestionable to me. The roof should be fully covered! It is very limiting if the roof consists only of windows. Of course, the enormous solar heat gain through the roof windows in summer is also an issue. Cleaning should not be overlooked either. If you have to hire a roofer to clean in the air space – can exterior shading somehow be achieved for maintenance work? Neighbors of ours also have a very nice architect-designed house with a large air space. Their kids always wake up when TV is supposed to be watched in the living room. Sure, you can build the walls from nice thick sand-lime bricks, but then there is still the door question. They must also be executed very heavily for soundproofing. If a finger ever gets in between, plaster damage is programmed. You can certainly manage everything. I had to carry plaster twice because of heavy doors and managed to get through – you just have to keep that in mind. You rarely see statements like that. ;) Basement apartment as a maisonette over 2 floors with a separate staircase? That way you could space out a bit per floor and have the staircase optimized for a stairlift right away for frail parents?

To implement photovoltaics, you can use solar roof tiles and cover the roof with them. Then the skylights would not be a problem, and personally, I also find that looks nicer for such a house.

That can be done ... but first, an up-to-date cost plan should be attached. I estimate a minimum of 1.2 - 1.4 million without outdoor facilities, but for example with photovoltaic tiles. Roughly, there are about 300 sqm of pure living space (considering slants) without the gallery air space plus the basement with the external dimensions 15.60x11.70 = 182 sqm, plus 1 or 2 light wells to achieve the desired basement room effect. 2 staircases, which certainly want to be designed well visually, the 3rd staircase into the basement can be simpler. Currently 5 bathrooms, sauna. Where is the laundry supposed to be done? I would definitely plan that in the upper floor.

Yes, I also think it’s heading in that direction, and rather more than less…
