I really like the design.

What are the two crosses in the WZ?

Glass floor for lighting in the basement?

Is there already a decision on the wall construction? Looks like it is double-layered?

I would not interrupt the wall to the granny flat. I liked the idea from with the larger kitchen.

Regarding airspace, a lot has already been written. I once built one myself. After 2 years, I closed it. It's just very uncomfortable. You can hardly get the acoustics right. Since you can't do without it, at least do something about the terrible acoustics. For example, you could cover the sloped ceiling with perforated panels.

The door is missing in the master bedroom. Who wants to be disturbed by light or noise from the dressing room/bathroom while sleeping?

The skylights in the bathroom are too low. The bathroom design really should be optimized. Simply copying the parents' bathroom is not an option.

No utility room on the upper floor? Then at least a chute to the basement. I have one that is accessible from both the children's bathroom and the parents' bathroom.

An airspace is not only beautiful to look at but also exudes spaciousness and openness. I wouldn’t want to miss it just for its atmosphere alone. And that’s why definitely build with airspace!

Well, I often find it cool in terms of atmosphere, more like a "car dealership" combined with "oh, we have extra space and are so modern." Even if I had space and money, I wouldn't want an atrium. I find the charm of openness and spaciousness in skillfully designed interiors. But tastes differ, and everyone can have their own opinion. However, the idea that an atrium automatically exudes spaciousness and openness is not true for everyone.

Exactly. It is a matter of taste. What is certain for me is that I find an open space very enriching, especially in larger houses (so not the single-family house with 125m2, where it is actually not sensible), as it gives the room a certain spaciousness. It is no coincidence that many large villas have impressive open spaces of this kind.

A dance floor above the heads of the party guests, at the level of the floor above, costs in construction only negligibly less than a usable room of the same size, and the operating costs do not exactly sweeten the open space either. People thought it was stylish when they had just survived the oil crisis, the year 2000 was still a beacon of hope (and Joschka was the first sneaker minister). That’s how they built if you drove a senator instead of a commodore. Such houses only get an H-license plate if the sanitary fixtures are originally bahamabeige. At least villas back then were not yet “instead” ;-)
