Exactly. I have the same taste as Rick but unfortunately not his budget!

Good morning everyone,

first of all, I would like to thank you for all your suggestions & justified criticisms. Even if you may not always have felt that I was doing what seemed right in our situation, I have taken every single comment to heart.
After long family discussions and considerations, I have now come to the conclusion to make a step back:

[*]Stop the general contractor planning order within the 2-week revocation period. We had agreed on an "immediate start of work" clause. That means I will probably have to pay the tuition fee for the few hours of work - it happens!
[*]Properly prepare our wishes again without too many specifications for the architect
[*]Commission the planning office that we have already selected from several alternatives

Restart! Let’s go!

I think that's great! It takes courage to make such a decision, but you probably wouldn't have been happy with the messed-up old plan!

Good job!
Plan a bit smaller, but a bit cooler.

Absolutely. And I just have to hold myself accountable here. I was too guided by a "dream idea" and simply didn't want to accept that with such an extremely high budget for us, "there is no more to be had." However, the wrong way is indeed to relentlessly look for cheaper solutions. It's like looking for a doctor who still certifies you as healthy despite obvious illness :)
