Can the tenant also cook somewhere?

Yes, the kitchenette is opposite the entrance.

Budget has stayed the same? Even if I assume that 1.5 million were available - that's 3 full floors of 11x15m, so you're already at 500 sqm of living space fully basemented, plus the converted attic. If I calculate 550 sqm, I would come to €2727 per sqm. I can’t imagine that this works for the project.

Otherwise, the granny flat would be the absolute nightmare for me. I couldn’t imagine anything worse than living in a huge new build for over a million and then hearing the tenant’s TV booming through my wall in the evening. That gives me the chills. :D

The granny flat is for parents/in-laws visiting.

Well, either they visit often enough that the point of "who" lives in the granny flat is basically irrelevant. Or they only come occasionally, but then the granny flat probably costs so many unnecessary euros in construction costs that with that money they could comfortably accommodate them in hotels for the rest of their lives.

I see a single-story plus a built-up living basement and attic conversion.
I really like the design. It’s exactly as you described and wanted. In the attic, I would align the children's rooms a bit if two are desired and reconsider swapping the dressing room and bedroom. Also, I would swap the shower and toilet in the master bathroom.
On the ground floor, I would make the living room a bit smaller. I’ll make a sketch because I think the entrance door is too close to the living area. I would divide it a bit so that the dining area is more in the walking path. Maybe with the guest WC? Then the men in the granny flat would have a bit more space for the kitchen. Also, I can imagine that 38 sqm lacks coziness. I would give the kitchen a terrace door to the back.
What about the pool? Do you have access to a shower there? I mean to the basement?
The granny flat reminds me a bit of a mobile home. They work on their own.
Congratulations on the architect.
