Yes, that's exactly how I imagined it. I especially like that the wardrobe discreetly disappears under the stairs.

As a wardrobe, I also find a closet to be a nice solution and it also looks more open. We use the space under the stairs as a pantry accessible from the kitchen. Shelves/cabinets were not an alternative for us there.
