to clutter up and keep sensible things (e.g. children's equipment if more children are planned later - where to put stroller, buggy and so on) is, in my opinion, a big difference.
whoever tends to "clutter up" will find something to clutter up even without a cellar
whether attic, storage room, utility room or whatever...
when our son was small, we often said that a cellar would be practical...
we would certainly have kept more toys and stuff instead of selling them, would have used the table tennis table in winter sometimes, celebrated children's birthdays in the party cellar and so on and so forth
at that time we simply didn’t have enough money
now that it’s just the two of us, we want to build "barrier-free" for later anyway...
sauna possibly in the garden, lawn mower and such like now also in the garden shed/garage extension
of course, anyone who uses the cellar as living space, play/hobby cellar, wants/has to put heating and such there, has a completely different approach
a cellar should not be built as pure storage space, the money can be used more wisely there
