No, the chain-link fence encloses the GFL area. That was just an anecdotal introduction. But I imagine that at the interface I can save myself a wooden post and make the foundation larger right where the gate pillar is going to be. Additionally, a steel post will take up less space than the other constructions. Therefore, I am already thinking about it, even though the gate and wicket do not need to be built so soon.

If the water must be kept outside the street, can the path drain towards the street? A base would be necessary for that. Otherwise, simple gate fittings, concrete in completely with posts. We have a 3.5m gate width, which is very comfortable. If the person behind has 6 children or grandchildren, then make it more stable.

We do everything as precisely as possible at street level (= neighbor's level). That way, no one can complain that we have bad drainage and not much water reaches us either, since the street slopes downward to the other side. What I'm actually concerned about is the structures to which the gate and wicket gate are attached. We have already "inherited" them from the seller and see no technical or aesthetic reason to replace them. It's good hot-dip galvanized steel and has lasted for decades and will probably last for decades more. I'm more interested in the best balance between (my own) labor, material costs, durability, and your experiences with that.

I would use pillar elements for filling with concrete, one side with [Klingelanlage] and mailboxes integrated. Reasons last forever, looks good, gates and gate are interchangeable, can be done in [EL]. Remember to thread the cables through

Nice that you indirectly bring the thread up again. My question is: how did you ultimately handle the parking space and access route/turning circle?

The parking space is not finished yet. Since we can park in front of the house, the pressure is not really high. I wanted to tackle it in the summer after paving the driveway, but unfortunately my plate compactor broke down. Before repairing it, I hesitated for quite a while due to fence construction, and then the rainy season started. Now it is winter. So nothing will happen before spring. But I am still quite confident that it is doable. At least for me. My wife has already said that she will never go there. :p
