With us, it was called dry heating of the screed. The commissioning was done by a Viessmann service technician. 1 hour with tools and 4 hours with a laptop, the heating installer had installed and prepared everything. Everything goes up via the ladder, 2x1m tiles of course individually.

Even the 45°C he considers a problem. Because the screed is damp, a lot of energy is already being withdrawn. Also, the hydraulic station, control system, etc. are of course already inside at extreme humidity. I personally consider it unproblematic and suspect that he just doesn’t feel like dealing with it and wants to do it the usual way, which means using an instantaneous water heater. Naturally, I pay for the electricity. ;-)

Ours also strictly refused to run that through the heat pump. I thought that was stupid because in summer it could have worked with a dream COP. So it became 6000kWh direct electricity generation.

But then he used a separate instantaneous water heater or the heating element of the heat pump? So my heating technician mentioned something about a heating element. However, I will discuss it with him again. Because I am not in the mood for exorbitant electricity costs right now.

I know the discussion. In the Stiebel Eltron manual, it even explicitly states that the screed program runs via the compressor. Unfortunately, my general contractor was not interested in that and everything happily ran via the heating rod. Always in the interest of absolute safety, after all, the builder pays for the electricity.

A completely separate device. Probably also for component protection; we did not have any of the final devices installed during the drying phase. I have the feeling that our anhydrite screed released significantly more water than the cement screed of our neighbors.
