So, it's time for an update again.
First of all, masonry work continued diligently and the roof truss was built relatively quickly. Then all the battens had to be taken down and put back on because they were nailed with the wrong roof pitch.
But they managed to fix it after all.
Despite the warnings and the site manager's warranty disclaimer, we already started installing the windows. The site manager wanted to give the go-ahead only after the roofing was done, but I had spoken to the roofer and he said they cut away from the house and if anything, it would only be dust.
We didn’t quite finish it in one weekend (in the pictures, the fixed glazing is still missing, which we finished on the ground floor; I installed them upstairs yesterday). The large hallway window, sealing, window sills outside, and the front door are still missing.
The following week the roof was then almost completely covered—without much dust. Well, almost (who’s placing the orders?)...
Unfortunately, we couldn’t finish the windows the following weekend because my father-in-law tested positive. Fortunately, he had only a fever for about a week and plans to be back this week.
Murphy’s Law, of course, is that the electrician will be on vacation next week, causing a standstill for three weeks, and just when he’s back my heating guy goes on vacation. That means everything would be delayed by almost two months in total!
That’s why I was at the construction site early today and closed up the front door opening and the large hallway window with OSB boards. The guest WC is still missing and then the electrician can leave his tools inside the house. We have a lockable access over the side entrance door.
The electrician and drywall installer were already inside today.
The drywall installer has already started on the roof insulation.
The compressed wool is much higher than the joists upstairs; how am I supposed to lay my OSB boards for walking on later?
The plasterer is supposed to start the week after next...
By the way: He of course refused a construction staircase. I will only install one now if he says otherwise there will be a stop on construction.
Summery greetings
