As a result, upon inquiry, it followed that I have to provide the construction stairs, as they are supposedly normally supplied by the stair builder. That seemed plausible to me. Now the neighbor has received his construction stairs (by the way, not standard-compliant) and they came from the roofer. One of the few trades I kept in... :rolleyes: I have now followed up and expressed my irritation. I'm curious to see how they will talk their way out of this.

So with us, the construction stairs also actually come from the stair builder who later installs the real stairs. But no idea if that is the rule.

I see the construction staircase as a separate trade, but who assembles it doesn't matter, it can also be the heating installer, although it will be difficult with the pipes :-)

Hey, I had the same discussion recently with my general contractor. He claimed that he had definitely pointed out during the site manager meeting that costs would arise. The steel stringer staircase we chose can only be installed after the plastering, unlike concrete stairs or these profile stairs.

He wanted 600€ from us for it, from the basement to the upper floor. He wanted to give us a 50% discount and in the end, we agreed in the interest of customer retention.

It also seemed very strange to me, and I wonder if the topic is handled this way in normal times regarding material costs and availability? It could also be a measure to optimize cash flow.
