Actually, you’re supposed to go to the planner without anything. Wasn’t it the case that yours traced everything?
Well, with a slowpoke you have to do the work yourself. If I were you, I would take everything with you, that way he has the agony of choice.

Will we get to see the finished draft then?

Sure[emoji1].

So far, we only had one appointment with the architect on the property. The redrawing was done by some draftsman who apparently does that as preliminary work for the calculation.

Alright then, I'll secretly take all the plans home in case the architect thinks it can't be done.

I once bugged half my relatives and asked them for measurements. For example, it turned out that my father's really practical pantry is only 1m wide. I always thought it was quite sufficient for its purposes. Or when I sit on the sofa, the optimal distance to our TV would be 3.5m. Or when I shower in the morning, I don't want to run half-naked through the house. I'd rather go straight to the closet.
These are personal things the architect doesn't necessarily know, and that's why I'm perfectly happy to incorporate these things into a personal plan. And also to gather ideas. Hopefully, nothing important will be forgotten.

Maybe someone still wants to share some experience: I definitely want to include a small pantry next to the kitchen. It is enough if only an L-shaped shelf along two walls is installed plus vacuum cleaner, broom, cleaning supplies. How wide should it be in your experience for average-sized people?

You’re mistaken there [emoji2] The architect may not know your preferences, but they know exactly what distances are good for and how wide a storage room or hallway has to be. Also distances in front of a closet, etc. That’s what the gentleman or lady studies. They just often have to deviate from the norm when the budget or the property boundary limits the construction – the client more readily accepts tightness than losing space.

A pantry can work well in square meters with a 70 cm door. However, if you get the idea of putting a freezer in there, you might possibly have a room just for the property... the sensible layout is important, too. On the front side, 15 cm shelves are very useful and sometimes better than deep shelves that can only be reached after 5 dark steps. [emoji2]

Yes, I hope the architect knows about the standard distances [emoji28]. Only food, baking molds, cleaning agents, cloths, handheld vacuum cleaner are actually supposed to go into the pantry. The freezer actually rather not. I would prefer a freestanding side-by-side unit for that. I am happy to get advice on this at the kitchen studio. Also gladly here

If you want to fit that into a small pantry, the cleaning stuff will be on the floor in front of the shelf, meaning you reach over it into what is basically just a "cabinet." Or should the cleaning stuff be placed next to the door and the pantry should be walk-in?

In the first case, a depth of about 80 cm is almost a case for long arms, in the second case a full meter is better, and at least 60 cm width next to the door.
