In the 2nd picture you can see quite well why we want to push the rear wall into the slope and then go from the living room in the upper floor into the garden. The house in the picture is the right neighbor and built on a slab. The windows you see belong to the upper floor of a city villa. The rear windows thus look onto the wall that begins the slope.
