Since this is currently also a topic in another thread: would it probably also make sense for us to soundproof the walls between the children's rooms? We have aerated concrete, the interior walls are not specially reinforced. What could be put on them? Can we have our own craftsmen do this ourselves after the house handover before painting? Does that make sense?

Different thread, different situation: I would also advocate using KS for the relevant walls here; but "monolithic" seems sufficient to me here. Regarding the bedroom: a pre-wall installation is already planned, the door already somewhat spoils sound optimization here; for the kitchen and utility room: unnecessary; for the study: there are no pipes in/on this wall and it is strong, so it is sufficient as is; regarding child 5: pre-wall installation, install soundproofing panels on the wall in the children's room (by a mason or drywall installer, or even DIY if you like, but not "retrofitted").

No, my husband and I don’t disturb each other. I was thinking about the ground floor and especially the three children in the "front row", i.e. facing the street. I am worried about whether some soundproofing might be necessary there. Because of visitors, loud music, etc. But everything you put on the wall takes up space in the room again. Also annoying. And these are exactly the walls from which we might want to remove one later...

I would not have installed any additional soundproofing between the children's rooms. There will still be furniture added which will absorb some sound, and the older kids are supposed to go into the garden shed with their friends when it gets louder in the evening.

I’m not worried about the exterior walls and otherwise only see the "intergenerational" partition walls between children as affected. I consider the classic household remedy of consideration to be the most effective there.

I don’t see it as so dramatic with the children either. I can’t recall my sister and me ever disturbing each other through a simple brick wall in the neighboring room. Nor would we ever have dreamed of not wishing the other the larger or even sunnier room.
