... it would be helpful to place both floor plans in the same orientation.

Ground floor, i.e. living area, the stairwell wall should be at the top of the plan, and at the bottom of the plan towards the sleeping area it should be left open. And here also the recommendation to possibly extend the staircase directly up to the upper floor. Because turned like this, the upper floor staircase definitely needs to be changed.

Although there is actually only light coming from the front door anyway, possibly also from the living room area if there is a glass door there. You should plan a sensible staircase lighting with a motion detector.

Upstairs we still want to have a daylight spot from Velux somewhere in there, which hopefully will also illuminate the stairs. Unfortunately, we are still waiting for further information. Actually, we are always waiting for something [emoji849]. And yes, the living room door must be glass.

The thing with the stairs, the women are probably right. If possible without other disadvantages, do it. Otherwise, when visitors come, close the door to the room. That works too. Otherwise, build it. There is always something, and bigger is always better, but also more expensive. Windows, leave it centered. Looks nicer from outside. Who knows if the table will stay there forever. Garage without a car, good idea. Cars don't need houses, they can handle wind and weather. As I said, basically the house works well for you. Exactly. Protection for the workbench and Pirelli calendar is more important

You could install a transom window horizontally in the partition wall between the dining area and the stairs (where the piano is). So, at a height of 2 meters, an interior window strip that is as wide as the stair depth. You know what I mean? It will be cheaper than a spotlight and very modern.

When considering the staircase turn, I would also take into account whether the ground floor [EG] and upper floor [OG] might be separated later. It would currently be more feasible. After the turn, it becomes more difficult.
