Oh yes, that’s right, I actually meant a gable roof[emoji1]. Luckily, I don’t have to make a living from it. That wouldn’t end well

Hehe, oh I see. So you thought being closer to the gable walls would be better? – No, the answer remains that this is not necessarily more advantageous or even required. At least not because of the structural engineering. For a potentially more favorable routing of supply air / exhaust air, no special roof shape is needed either.

I remember an insulated attic pull-down staircase". That will surely cause building-related problems if a fully open staircase is to be installed there, right? The attic has so far only been intended as a storage place for non-sensitive decorative items, sleds, winter jackets, etc. Can you just put the heating there? Probably not, right?

The attic must be insulated, correct. It has to be frost-free. Ask about the additional cost. But it is certainly cheaper to insulate the attic and even later convert it nicely than to have a larger living area. The attic is there anyway.

Best regards in short

The issue of the attic is not yet finally settled. I have to wait for the next appointment for that. But with heating in the attic, my husband feels uncomfortable.

I hope you don't mind, but I have drawn it again. I think in the end we will show up at the architect’s office with a huge pile of plans [emoji23] The wall thickness is not drawn in, but there is still space on the right and left, and the current budget is calculated with an approximate outer dimension of 11.35 by 11 meters.

I find many things look small. But when I take floor plans from, for example, Danwood as a comparison, many rooms there have similar dimensions. So apparently there are other people besides us who cannot realize 15sqm children's rooms and bathrooms. And the design is optimally validated for our daily life.
Therefore, I dare to post my design. But you are very welcome to criticize it thoroughly.

A practice for me will (if at all) only be possible once the three children have left the house. Until then I can stay with a favorite colleague. So this requirement is ruled out for now and makes planning easier.

Edit:
Darn. I think you can hardly see anything. I’ll try to make a better picture tomorrow.
