Well, "gave it a try" is probably a massive understatement. I’d say an extra bold "like." Where does 33.5 cm wall thickness come from: 17.5 + 2x 8 insulation – weren’t we talking about monolithic 30? I assume the dashed zone in the attic is the 2m area? – there you can see why the latest contractor’s design still has a pull-out ladder in it, since extending the normal staircase upwards would have positioned the exit unfavorably.

I admit ... typo ... I actually wanted to enter 36.5 and then overlooked it. It was too much hassle for me to adjust it.

Yes, once the 2-m line and once the 1-m line. I used the 1-m line to set the knee wall.

Since unfortunately storage space at the basement/ground floor level is really not very abundant, I would definitely lead the normal stairs to the attic, but with a door in front of it. That’s also why the sections, to show how it then looks. And, for the attic I had to give about 50 cm knee wall height for the exterior walls, otherwise with a 22° roof pitch there is very little space.

Wow kbt!!! I think I will also have to print this out and admire and study it in peace. And once again I see that everyone except my husband is in favor of the attic staircase. I need to discuss this again with him. At the moment there is no concrete ceiling planned towards the roof. What additional costs should be expected here if the attic is to be used for storing seasonal clothing and stuff, including a fixed staircase?

What does he not like about it, does he love the "thrill" of balancing on a chicken ladder?
The material of the ceiling does not yet say anything about the use as storage. I wouldn’t speak of "additional costs" since the storage space itself is "without alternative." You always have junk that gets in the way of living space downstairs. And for undisturbed Asterix reading, you also prefer to retreat via a safely walkable staircase.

The top floor can gladly have a beam ceiling with drywall, it just needs to be covered with formwork boards on top, then you have a walkable storage space that even looks quite nice because of the wooden boards. Don’t you know from back in the day those old drying attics for drying laundry with wooden floorboards and the chamber for the maid? Karsten

He says that everything works fine with the pull-down ladder, his parents finally also have one going up to the attic [emoji85] I think it will just stay a topic of conversation for now. Some things simply take time and you have to see what we can agree on then. Maybe a larger garage as drawn in the plan would also work. We supposedly have a reasonably priced mason from our circle of acquaintances. But I fear that a masonry garage of that size will also be significantly more expensive with someone we know than the combination of prefabricated garage plus attic [emoji13]
