Fingers crossed for you that there is someone who needs the excavation.

Friends of ours got rid of over 200 cubic meters like that for free. The neighbor filled it up.

That would of course be optimal if someone is found. I will take care of it as soon as the construction start date is set.

I am curious whether our calculation is still correct. The previous earthworker wanted around 23,000 euros for excavating the pit, separating the soil and partly storing it on the property, disposing of 350 cubic meters, graveling and compacting the pit and the driveway, roughly leveling the terrain, and backfilling behind the house. Additionally, we planned 3,000 for a drainage system and then still have 4,000 left for connection to the sewer, which is located on the property.

What do you think? It's of course a bit difficult now, without knowing the amount of gravel...

We would still have a buffer of about 10,000 "free." So in total, 40,000 that we can spend on these works. If it turns out to be significantly more, there will be no garden shed or paving for the time being, or we will have to paint more cheaply (or get it done cheaper). Or else we will have to touch private equity...

Oh dear, yes I know that. Buffer in civil engineering is always good. When something is left over, you are happy. Believe me, once this part is done, building is much more relaxed

I think we're really going to have a party here once the earthworks are done [emoji85]. Somehow, they're also the thing that worries me the most.

I believe it is the same for everyone. All other trades, constructions, and costs are either fixed, foreseeable, or controllable. Only civil engineering is not (never?!).

We needed almost 15,000 euros more for civil engineering and concrete work. Never anything earth-shattering, literally small change also adds up.
