Yes
Some people prefer slab foundations.

Today the base slab was accepted, tomorrow it will be poured. And the invoice from the earthworks contractor arrived. 6,000 euros less than feared [emoji106][emoji106]

I hope I don't have to worry about that now [emoji23]

The soil survey had predicted some rock in the rear area, which is why we had expected an extra charge due to different equipment. But there was no rock. Next to the house, less had to be excavated and suddenly, the total amount is not quite as high anymore. Still, a lot, a lot of money [emoji13]

Oh, now I understand. You meant to pour first and then remove it. No, according to an external DEKRA guy, before. Otherwise, you can't see anymore whether the interior of the slab is correct. So he checked the steel framework inside as well as the grounding (or whatever that thing is called) and the drains and the empty conduits for the air-water heat pump. And he measured and photographed everything. Once it is poured, you can't see any of that anymore or it's too late for corrections.

No, that’s not what I meant. Quoting did not work. I meant it usually gets more expensive than estimated, not cheaper.
