I still can't come to terms with the house The area is beautiful, I was cycling there yesterday But somehow I kick myself for not snapping up a recently listed terraced house for sale in my parents' neighborhood Then I would be in my area and probably happier The house was 90k cheaper but with a realtor fee and 20 years old and only 100m2 of land (minigarden) But it probably would have felt better for me :(

Honestly, in my opinion, you won’t get out of it anymore anyway. Why should the developer let you out? I wouldn’t do that. It's not without reason that real estate can only be purchased with a notarized purchase contract. So relax, now it’s yours. If you still want to sell it after completion, that’s up to you. Until then, the matter is settled.

And if you chicken out again now, you'll be even more upset during your next purchase attempt (which might then be even more expensive and have even more disadvantages). Mourning over missed opportunities doesn't help. Sometimes you just have to take action. You have done that now, and that's a good thing.

I spoke with the notary, the costs would be manageable and since he knows the developer well, he can also imagine that the developer would be accommodating if necessary. Current notary fees amount to 4400 euros.

You had decided against the terraced house at your parents' place. So you had your reasons. Would it really be cheaper after a renovation with a smaller plot?

not significant I think, just new floors, painting etc., bathroom possibly 20-30k for sure. I’m saying rationally the purchased property is better. Heart says quickly back, if buying only where you grew up.
