We worry so much about money that we manage to make ourselves feel bad, even though we belong to the top x-tenths per mille of the world population. Whoever realizes this and questions their wishes and demands and recognizes their position in the hamster wheel can laugh out loud once and make a decision to either get out or keep running. The fright is not an existential threat but the collapse of a self-chosen house of cards made up of wishes, comparisons, and expectations multiplied by the feeling of social pressure from the environment. We don’t need all that stuff. We just want it. Folks, it’s ONLY money. Treat each other well, stay healthy, give each other a smile (yes, even to the “stupid” neighbor), and enjoy what is there instead of forgetting to enjoy because of the fear of losing it.

I think the seller lets him off because he makes more money with resale + cancellation fees (or whatever the OP has to pay)... The OP could also already present a potential buyer...

Amen, sister. Your post contains many maxims that I also try to live by.

We are not starving here at all. So there is enough "money" and things can "happen." I prefer to be surrounded by favorite people in simple circumstances rather than with constantly subtly dissatisfied people in a dream castle. Anyone who thinks the same can set their priorities accordingly and doesn’t need much more.
