I personally believe that if I already know a lot of devices are coming, then I make the correct number of outlets right away. If you are fine with the power strip, then do it. Everyone has different opinions on that.

"Never again recessed installations" is one of the noblest reasons to build.

That is the absolute minimum. I think a light switch by the bed in the bedroom is cool. Sockets next to the bed are a must. In the children's room, you definitely need more sockets. If there's ever a PC with a printer, etc., you comfortably need 4 sockets at the desk. In the storage room, if there is ever a freezer chest and a handheld vacuum cleaner, how do you want to charge it? But yes, you can always help out with power strips.

Apparently, it's also a matter of taste when it comes to electrical outlets.

We have friends who are electricians. They installed 3 or 4 outlets at every spot because if you do it yourself, it hardly costs more than 1 outlet. That may be practical, but we thought it looked really awful. Everything plastered with outlets...

Each outlet cost us 80 euros, so we were accordingly frugal. Behind the TV, there's now a 4-socket power strip hidden in the TV cabinet, and that's even better because it's easier to plug in than behind the cabinet. And I'd rather spend the 240€ elsewhere. But we also have few electronic devices, that probably plays a role.

We see it the same way. We then commissioned the following additionally:

Electrical:

    [*]no sockets under switches
    [*]Bedroom: 1x additional double socket
[*]Children’s room: 1x additional double socket
[*]Hallway: 1x additional ceiling light point, no wall light point instead. Two light switches in the hallway.
[*]Living room: 1x additional ceiling light point (above the dining table) with an extra switching option
    [*]Bathroom: 6x ceiling spots
    [*]Toilet: 3x ceiling spots
    [*]Charging cable for electric car

That should be enough.

Why no sockets under the switch? I would have preferred more of those in hindsight because we use them for vacuuming. That way, you don’t have to bend down. We also always plug in things like a drill, baby monitor, or other temporary stuff there. So we would really prefer more, and you’re not getting any younger...

And what I still don’t understand. WC with 2 double sockets? Is that actually a guest bathroom? In our old house, we only had one there, and even that one was NEVER used. For a guest bathroom, I would also find that too much.

Overall, we only have a few more sockets than you plan in terms of quantity, but we have significantly more places with sockets. For example, we have 10 sockets in the living/dining room, but in 9 different locations (8 singles and one double). So in our case, there is definitely a socket near every conceivable spot. The case of “too few sockets” can therefore hardly occur with multiple adapters without cable clutter.

We have significantly more switches than you, but that naturally depends on the floor plan. For example, in the hallway downstairs, we have 4 switches, and none of them are really dispensable.

Overall, our contract specified the cost of each additional socket, and we were able to flexibly decide during the shell construction stage where sockets should go. That allows you to imagine it better than just on paper.
