I wanted an amount where we can still save at least €1,500 monthly. Then I can work with special financing. It is also the first offer from a general contractor. I actually want to get down to €2,500 / sqm. Whether that works, I will only know after I have compared. The Kampa representative is coming to us on Monday and we will discuss the details. After that, probably a comparison will be made. Next points of contact will be:
- Richter Haus (solid construction)
- Danhaus (solid exterior walls, not inside)
- a regional small construction company.

"Solid" there only refers to the brick veneer.

Yes, you’re right. We are still a bit skeptical about prefabricated construction. Let’s see what further inquiries with GCs will bring.

Short info about the current situation.

We had a visit yesterday from the independent representative of Kampa. A very nice man, very helpful. We looked at the property and talked about our ideas. He even suggested that I use his offer to go to other builders and compare. I was planning to do that anyway.

I have, among others, contacted a regional construction company as well as several construction companies in Poland. Of course, I am a bit skeptical when it comes to Polish companies (I am originally Polish myself). But I will definitely take a look and compare. We are under no pressure and it is, after our daughter, the second biggest investment of our lives.

The following appointments await us next week:

Tuesday - appointment with a regional construction company (small but fine
Wednesday - the managing director of a Polish company is coming to visit us and we will get an offer
Thursday - appointment with the company from the town.

I am curious.

We have now had the three appointments. Number one on Tuesday and three on Thursday were good - very good. The managing director of the Polish company was more of a craftsman than a consultant. He simply said, we will build whatever you want. But there were no suggestions, etc. I am nevertheless curious about the costs, so I will have him make an offer.

Appointment one on Tuesday was good. There was an architect (external) and the MD present. They recommended a gas boiler + photovoltaic system. The architect must be paid beforehand and is not included in the overall offer from the construction company.

The appointment on Thursday was the best from our point of view. The company builds quite a lot in the area and also does "prestige projects" such as the renovation of a train station or a listed building on the main street. But also many single-family homes. Has a good reputation and we got along very well with the MD. The architect will be included in the total price and otherwise everything will be delivered turnkey. His prices so far were about €1,800 gross per sqm. He most frequently builds with air-water heat pumps and photovoltaic systems. We rather expect €2,200 - €2,300 per sqm. We do have a few special requests.
