Our bedroom in the new house has light brown/beige walls. On one wall there are 3 dark brown stripes as a small highlight and on the sloping ceiling above the bed I painted a nice saying in dark brown with the help of a projector. It looks really great!

When setting up the bedroom, one must not forget that bedrooms primarily serve for relaxation. Therefore, I assume that quiet and not wild colors should prevail in the bedroom.

So it's rather quiet in the bedroom at Monie and not so wild. After all, it serves for relaxation.

Don't want anyone to get the wrong idea, it was about colors.

At the moment we have a light green downstairs and a light yellow upstairs. Actually, I find that too dull. I think in the new house there will be a bit more accents. When I sleep I close my eyes, so the colors don't matter to me, and if you're otherwise in the bedroom, it should actually look like something. Of course not all four walls neon green.

Well, have you already come to a decision? :-)

I see it like Musketier – with closed eyes, I don’t care about the color. Unless you have a very sensitive sleep, you can definitely go bold with colors! I find a dark purple or teal very nice. In my opinion, it looks best when only the wall behind the bed is painted. Also, with colored walls, you should always leave at least 10 cm of white at the top; it then looks more elegant and tidy (it’s really true).

Many years ago (back when I was still in school :)) I attended a Feng Shui course during project week. What I "learned" there was incredibly interesting, especially since I was just furnishing my apartment at that time. Among other things, we dealt with colors. In Feng Shui, there are colors that promote or inhibit certain emotions/states of well-being. For example, the color green is considered a learning color – meaning one could/should use more green tones around the desk. Red is a very energetic color and fits well in the kitchen – and definitely not in the bedroom, where you usually want to relax and sleep. Blue tones and earthy colors fit better there. The topic is of course much more extensive, and anyone interested will surely find a lot more with a Google search.

Warm soothing tones. Like beige or cream. I would definitely choose red, that supposedly makes you aggressive...
