Uh, because the original poster simply took a generic floor plan from the internet? You can read all about that in the thread?!

Thanks again for your drawings!

Thank you for your assessment and attentive reading ;) The corner bathtub will be a normal soft one and the showers are supposed to have 90x120cm trays and then simply be tiled without partitions. We do need the NET for the reasonable reasons mentioned by .

Thanks for sharing! Yes, one washbasin is definitely enough, I never really understood the point of having two, but others might find them indispensable... I can tell, the needs are just extremely individual from family to family.

You are right, the catalog floor plans don’t have to please everyone, but they should at least be structurally feasible and sensible...

That’s a very good point about laundry, you already have to collect it all over the house anyway... Laundry chutes are extremely expensive, right? But certainly also quite a nice luxury, I have to check whether the providers in question would even offer something like that.

The next floor plan I post here will already include my changes, but having your comments on it is great, thank you very much! By the way, it’s getting a bit more complicated: the option has arisen to turn the whole thing into a multi-generational house. But that would totally blow up this thread and I would open a new thread if that idea becomes more concrete.

I have not excluded it either. You should just mentally detach yourself from using it as the main entrance for you four-person household, instead of using the space in the utility room as such, which is what it is meant for.

The design is structurally feasible, it just lacks "precisely the feature that makes a catalog design superior." The consequence is the "omitted avoidance" *LOL* of drywall bumps. A standard house type doesn’t have to please without modifications, but ... ... Your next template should come from a general contractor who also recommends themselves for the realization. Please open a new thread only if it really becomes a different kind of project (and then link back here).

Then a new question for you pros :) There are two options: a large multi-generational house or a large and a small house. I imagine the first option to be more cost-effective, the second is more practical in case something is sold or rented out later. Does anyone have experience with such a project? There is definitely enough space :)

Don’t remind us of Claudia-Marlen’s ;-) ... otherwise is still planning a farmstead. I think, in your case, I would tend toward the more manageable concept.
