That probably makes a difference regarding the interplay of air movement in the room with the phases of heating through the heater and sunlight. This was explained in a documentary about test buildings at a university for researching new construction methods. However, I am not a physics lecturer who could explain it. In higher rooms, the warm air rises to the ceiling for a longer time. The reheating and the day-night cycle probably fit together better than with the more modern room heights, which I personally otherwise consider practical.

I find 2.4m OK for small rooms. For a large open-plan room, I find 2.4m almost a bit oppressive.

Everyone can do as they please, but one should be aware of the final room height. A 2.8m floor height sounds great, but about 20cm is taken up by the ceiling and 15-20cm by the screed with insulation.

In our place, the open space is almost 5 meters high, the reactions to solar radiation and heating are slower. Down where the people are, it is very comfortable, and upstairs is very rarely anyone, and it is warmer there as well.
If it gets too warm downstairs, we can tilt the skylights open and that works well.

I find the insulation between the floors in a single-family house crazy.

Whereas the difference between 10cm insulation and 6cm is not decisive. Either you want the 2.80m ceiling, then you have to build accordingly high and be allowed to do so. Or you take standard height.

Why between the floors? I am talking about the ground floor and if I remember correctly, there is no basement.
