Unfortunately, nothing is prescribed, the houses around are quite randomly distributed. Placing the carport half in front of the nice gable would probably spoil the view from the front, and the idea was to be able to quickly get from the car to the utility room and kitchen with groceries without getting wet. There is probably enough space for a turning area, but backing out is of course not ideal, you're right...

Be glad that nothing is prescribed. Does the 34er apply then? Your building project would then depend on the surroundings. For example, the bungalow next to you argues against a 1.5-story building. Hence the question about the surroundings was already asked a long time ago.

Somehow I don’t understand you. The entrance is, if I’m not mistaken, in the northern bay window. With my design, you are immediately inside the house from the carport. Especially since I have planned a glass roof in between. With your plan, you are several meters away from the entrance. So clear advantage with my design.

Who should admire the bay window? You are the house behind. How often do you think you will admire the bay window yourself? More so in the south, since you have your garden there, but in the north?

In your plan, there is not enough space to turn around.

Besides, the house is not that close to the neighbor and a bit more to the north. You benefit from the evening sun. Besides, you have a bit more garden space in the south.

I have flipped back. Wasn't the bay window off the table already a long time ago?

Here is another version somewhat more closely aligned to your draft.

Thank you very much for your effort! I didn’t really recognize the glass roof as such, I thought they would just pave there :D We shouldn’t have any problems with the surrounding houses: the bungalow is one thing, on the other neighboring plots there are three-story apartment buildings, one- to two-story apartment buildings, and all kinds of garden sheds and extensions. The floor plan is actually very similar to ours, that’s a good sign :D

Does the 34 then apply? - Yep, it applies.

Who is supposed to admire the bay window? You are the rear neighbor. Guess how often you yourself will admire the bay window? More in the south, you have your garden there, but in the north? - Every time I approach or drive towards it. We have thought back and forth for a long time and simply find that a nice front door in the gable really stands out. It’s one of those things we’re both sure we would regret later if we "scrimp" on it.

In your plan there isn’t enough room to turn around. - We urgently need to plan that in, thank you!

Besides, the house isn’t so close to the neighbor and a bit more to the north. You’ll benefit from the evening sun. You’ll also have a bit more garden in the south. - There is a huge chestnut tree in the north, and for reasons of shade and pollen dispersal we don’t want to be too close. Of course you can’t know that from the plan, so we will definitely walk the plot again with our site manager beforehand.
