Mine has been running since 02/04/2021. I just find the humming a bit unusual. But it could also be related to the temperatures. We had around -16 to -19 degrees at night all weekend. I already found it somewhat loud then. During the defrost program, you also think it’s going to burn out right away because of the steam ;)

But that must have resulted in a substantial electricity bill, right?

Usually, you don't need to go up to 55 degrees flow temperature if normal operation is around 30-35 degrees flow temperature.

So far, I haven't noticed any disturbing humming. Of course, we haven't moved in yet. But I would say it always depends on the individual case:

[*]Size of the heat pump. It is usually oversized unnecessarily anyway
[*]Model -> newer ones are quieter than older ones
[*]Vibration isolation of the heat pump
    [*]Vibration isolation of the pipes
    [*]Vibration isolation inside the house
    [*]Location and acoustic conditions

With my Geisha, I honestly can't tell whether it's running or not. For that, I have to climb onto the garage roof and listen closely.

From my own professional experience, I know that thermal and acoustic isolation of pipes is not high on the priority list of installers...

Despite the advantages when heating up, I would never switch to gas because a properly designed and self-installed heat pump is simply cheaper overall. I can always produce electricity myself.... with gas, that is more difficult.

Electricity costs 1600 euros.
The latest model from Alpha Innotec, which is supposedly the quietest there is.
Heat pump and everything else were installed with rubber buffers etc. according to the manufacturer's instructions.
The installation location is 50 centimeters from the house, directly in front of the utility room.

The humming can only be heard when I stand in front of the house or next to the heat pump. On the other sides of the building or inside the house, nothing can be heard.

I think it is simply due to the -18 degrees we have had for a few days now.

During the day, I hardly hear it at all.

Currently, we have 5 dehumidifiers running for 2 weeks. 50€ rent per day plus electricity.

What is your assessment, does everything really have to be 100 percent dry before painting? Basically, there are still spots on the interior walls and in the Rinanker area.

The electricity costs for the heat pump are only 350 euros so far according to the internal meter. Currently, it is about 5 euros per day at 35 degrees room temperature.

What color should be used? I would only paint where it is dry. That way, you can already get started. Otherwise... better to wait a few more days now than to get peeling paint and mold later.

We also have a buzzing sound. At first, I thought it might be in my ears. We used to live on a main road. Now we live in an area on the edge of a field, where it is absolutely quiet. The construction manager was here in the meantime and said that although his ears are not as good anymore because of his work in construction, he also hears the sound. However, he cannot explain where it comes from and says it is still within the normal range.

You can hear the sound at night (when the children are sleeping) or when it is completely quiet, so when you are alone, everywhere. However, my wife hears nothing?? I find the humming tone similarly loud in every room on the ground floor and upper floor, which is the strange thing. In the basement, however, I do not perceive this tone, even though the technical room is there and no doors are installed yet. But maybe that is exactly why you do not hear it there. Because when the children are loud, I do not hear the buzzing sound either.

Where does the buzzing sound come from for you? To me, it sounds like it could be the same as with us. When it is cold outside, it is particularly intense.

The heat pump??? The underfloor heating??? The ventilation system??? The solar panels??? Or what else could it be???
