Well, I didn’t track where you live, but here in Bavaria, no 5 trades send you an offer to choose from... with 3 you call 8 times and get nothing, one sends you one and the other says he has no openings until 2025... and then you take the one...

Fit providers quickly check if someone interprets "request quotes" as a popular sport for the sake of their amusement and are then only too polite to send the request back with the plainly written word "asshole." The craft is slowly also learning to distinguish between "business people" and "sight people."

Then you just have to be a bit smarter...

...I managed it too.

Be that as it may. Still, you have a price you can calculate with.

Whether it is "clever" to underestimate the working hours of bid calculators just to be able to wave more comparison offers around when playing skat, I dare to doubt. If decadence is taken as an indicator of the decline of an empire, we will soon follow the Romans.

Also in Bavaria, you can get multiple offers. You just have to inquire in such a way that you are interesting. Adjustment factors are:

    [*]An extraordinary project
[*]Specify the result and allow freedom in the implementation
[*]Offer the chance for a truly well-utilizable reference
    [*]Appear in person
    [*]Be friendly and reliable
[*]Do not inquire anyone who is not also being considered
[*]Aim for and communicate the best price-performance ratio or result, not the lowest invoice amount

Responding to an anonymous 08/15 price inquiry with unclear prospects of winning the contract is a complete waste of time, even in bad times.
