If the general contractor is really insolvent - is he though? - then the managing director of the company has no say anymore and cannot make such statements.

In the case of insolvency, the insolvency administrator is your contact person. If your construction company tells you, I don’t need the money from you anymore, let someone else handle it, then the insolvency administrator will see that very differently. Then you have paid twice.

Before an administrator is appointed, the MD still acts alone, during preliminary administration practically in parallel, and only the administrator acts in the final insolvency proceedings. However, if the MD files for insolvency too late, he practically retains control longer, but the administrator then determines the actual entry into insolvency and then possibly reverses it. As a creditor (also of a consideration), it is more secure for planning to deal with a confirmed insolvent company than with one in an unknown state. Because insolvency law is very, very special and a layperson compared to an insolvency administrator is like someone who goes to a shootout with a knife :-(
Compared to insolvency administrators, I consider even fraudsters as "more reputable" business partners ;-(

lol ok.

I'll just wait then.

In any case, we will complete the masonry and concrete work on Saturday, and starting Monday, the roof is to be covered.

Today the gables were concreted and the rafters were bricked up. Now only a few interior walls and one more row of Poroton in the parapets are missing until the masonry work is finally completed. The roofer will continue on Monday.

Very nice! It already really looks like a house. By when should the roof be on?
