I didn't quite understand that. But I have also tweaked the size a bit and redesigned the upper floor. The living room at 4m was too narrow for me compared to the original draft. Now at 4.30m a bit better – but the cloakroom closets downstairs are now only 1.80m instead of 2m wide, which can surely be handled well.

The story height is the height the staircase has to overcome. Besides the room height, this also includes things like the ceiling and floor construction. The latter usually add up to about 30cm height + clear room height = something around 2.90m story height. Otherwise, you would have to subtract that from the 2.63 and the room height would be only 2.30m. I don’t even know if that is still permitted.
