Including garage? Without it, it will be rubbish. I wouldn't mirror it. Morning sun in the kitchen is a dream (at least for us) and in the evening the sun in the living room. Dining table facing south is almost always bright. But actually, I'm still with #60 (maybe swapped stairs/front door). I'll wait to see what other ideas you have.

I also think a half-landing staircase is great. Does anyone know how much more it costs than a normal staircase?

I just tried to adapt the floor plan of #60 with our measurements. The house already ends here next to the stairs

Mmh. That might be quite nice, but the upper floor will be difficult if the staircase is not more centered on the north wall. Therefore, without the upper floor one can't really judge it yet.
