The problem is rather your lack of imagination. I have to sketch it all again the other way around with the [Speis]. Although I think that the door into the [SK] also looks strange. The chute unfortunately cannot come out in the utility room. I think the solution is quite good.

Good morning,

I only wrote on my mobile at the Christmas party yesterday, and I noticed that there are still some comprehension difficulties.

The wardrobe behind the tall cabinets would only become a wardrobe in the case of an exchange between the SK and the tall cabinets. Where it is now, of course, it doesn’t make sense. In this case, it serves as a storage space for the vacuum cleaner, cleaning supplies, shoes, and jackets that are not needed daily,...

The wardrobe will be integrated directly into the entrance area in this case. Something like this or similar.

I also noticed that the door at the back has not yet been converted into a window. That still needs to be considered. Since we can go out through the garage anyway, we don’t need an additional door to the north. We also need to talk about the extra door to the garage. It should also be equipped with a fingerprint scanner, otherwise I defeat the whole purpose if I can enter through the front door with a fingerprint but have to manually unlock the side door.

I find the tall cabinets not far from the work surface on the island with a 200x90 cooking island?

I have marked it as an example in this picture.

Do you mean on the east side by the front door? I think the bay window looks "stupid" if you don’t also have the overhang there.

I would leave the pantry where it is. Rooms without windows are terrible, even if it’s just a storage room. We recently had a leaking disposable jar that suddenly decided to start smelling. You’re happy to be able to throw open a window then.

What I don’t like about the floor plan is the long distance from the kitchen to the dining table (not to mention to the sofa). In my opinion, that space is wasted. Ok, you can dance there – that’s not bad either. But otherwise? If I also count the bay window for the kitchen, that’s a nice luxury. However, I wonder whether there is actually any added value, or if the walking back and forth would get on my nerves pretty soon.

If saving is not an issue, leave it as is, otherwise I would bring the kitchen closer and place the pantry behind it. Cancel the bay window and use the money to lay real wood parquet or something similar.

(just a sketch for understanding!)

We also considered it but dismissed it for two reasons. First, it ruins the southern window view and second, access to the SK would then be difficult or wouldn’t look good. Going around like in your sketch is out of the question and “through” the kitchen units doesn’t appeal to us.

If I calculate a 2.20m long table, I need at least 4.20m of space. If I now move the door to the living area and put a sideboard or something similar next to the tall cabinets/pantry, I end up needing almost 5m of space with 6.30m available. It’s a lot of space, I agree, but you do need that much if you have guests. We also don’t want to “cram” everything in because there should still be an area for the kids to play on the floor that is visible from the kitchen. It was also intended that the living area is separate and a bit partitioned off. I don’t have to get up to the fridge every 5 minutes when I’m lying on the couch.

I’m just thinking whether you could detach the door to the garage from the house and have it lead into the garage already in front of the front door. That way you could also go into the garage with dirty garden clothes without having to open the gate or walk all the way around the house. Then you could integrate a nice coat rack in the vestibule and kill two birds with one stone.

Then the only real problem left is that the dressing room doesn’t have a window. But honestly, I don’t yet have a solution for that...

That's what I mean and it can be visually adjusted. In the thread about R.Hotzenplotz's house, you can read how this structural issue has already been discussed in detail. I see a clear disproportion between the extra effort for structural-insulation connections and the "gain" in visual finesse, and conversely, the visual goal can also be pursued with considerably less effort.

I find the idea very appealing and it would, in my opinion, practically mean advancing the garage by up to half a meter if the position of the entrance door is to be maintained.
