Of course, a single concrete specimen of a civil engineer can also have a sense of space. Purely from the training perspective, however, an engineer is a feasibility finder, and if he is not particularly ambitious or talented for it, "nothing more". But there are also architects without a sense of feeling. They then build the clinker brick Tuscan villas with the mullioned windows, whether in Trier or in Krefeld.

Hello, good evening and good night...

Today, during the day, we talked about the topic again and sought advice from other builders. We are now quite ready to deal with the topic of architects. I will now survey the "market" in our area over the next few days and take the additional costs into account in the financing plan...

Have you actually received a draft of a BU or taken care of it?

No, how should it? A [BU] is not just going to make/provide you with a house design for free, right? Or am I misunderstanding the question now?

You are still in the discovery phase, so also in the discovery phase of BU or architect. You sometimes approach one or the other, possibly being shown comparable projects from the drawer. There are also type houses that match your orientation by the dozen. And many BUs that will make you an offer with a few changes. I have been waiting for months for a professional design from you.

Oh, I see. We haven't even approached a BU or architect yet. Simply because we first wanted to be clear about what we actually want in the house. That has gotten a bit out of hand here, I'll admit... I hope the geologist comes next week, then we can also visit the BU and architects and inquire about the schedule for the shell construction or the plan. Otherwise, it doesn't make much sense if you don't know whether you're building with or without a basement. Of course, we do like quite a few model houses. Unfortunately, I've learned you’re not allowed to post links here. Tuesday we might also go to the model house center again.
