Very first floor plan draft of the ground floor

That's what I have thought before as well. But yesterday I showed my wife a photo of a kitchen island that is oriented like that. She wasn't enthusiastic about it. Personally, I do like the orientation towards the garden

She basically wants the island with the long side facing the dining table. No, but you can use it to nicely illustrate or present your suggestions. The orientation towards the garden was immediately rejected...

I can't understand that at all, the island seems so much more "chunky," it feels a bit like a foreign body, it doesn't really fit the shape of the space. but to each their own. the island can also be placed crosswise in my floor plan suggestion that was actually just an example

I can try again, what do you think about putting living, eating, and cooking all on the long side?

She basically wants the island rotated. So a "normal" orientation. Yes, but we haven't had any concrete plans made yet, since we don't even know where and how it will be placed

Then it will just be rotated... where is the problem????
