You can do it that way if you have a lot of time. But while a soil survey is in progress, you also use the time to look for your contracting partner. For some, it can take several months to find someone trustworthy. But of course, you can also waste your time with the thought of and around a meal.

You simply don’t have to understand everything about the Bavarians. If we fully understood them, we would be Bavarians too. That would be the downfall of Prussia. Karsten

Update: The geologist was here, the soil is as expected poor... Nevertheless, we will build a basement.

An appointment with an architect is now scheduled. I have almost all contract partners except the most important one. I am still missing the shell builder. But that can only happen with a proper floor plan...

When I look at what you call beer, it’s fine the way it is...

Even I, as a Bavarian, don’t understand that now...

Now you have the case that actually argues against a basement and yet you are still building one.
What case would have to occur for you to do without the basement?

Hm, I think that almost never happens in hindsight... Honestly, I also don't see any above-ground alternatives for the basement. At least nothing that would accommodate 10-20m² more. We then discussed in the evening and now prefer to take the money in hand...

On the lower side, we have the first rocky ground at about 2-2.50m. Groundwater is there at about 1.40m.
On the upper side, we are at about 2.50m to rocky ground and groundwater just under 2m. But the geologist also said that the ground there is no problem for a large excavator.

Since it also turned out that the height difference between the outer wall at the bottom and top is 1.5m, it wouldn't be so bad if we fill up the 1.5m.
