so having everything on one side can make the room feel very narrow. additionally, the other rooms are suddenly stretched out as well. is the entrance fixed on the right side or can it also be at the bottom?

EDIT: Structural engineering can also make the whole thing expensive because steel beams may then be necessary

In theory, it can also be from below. I just wanted the entrance on the right because of the garage.

And what if I just rotate the whole thing? That is, swap the long side and the short side? Then no straight staircase would fit anymore, but I think this slightly quarter-turn staircase would also be okay

The pantry is now too narrow and I would always prefer to avoid having the stair entrance in the entrance area.

What should a good SK have in terms of width?

Could it be that you start over again and again in your free time without a plan and without giving it any basic thought?

That way your house will never come into being.

If you are going to an architect anyway, that's okay - think about it and then discard your ideas again. Play around a bit.
But if something buildable is to come from your pen, then approach it with a plan.

Just put the most important rooms where their orientation might please you. Simply omit the exterior walls and stairs for now.
The rest will follow.
