Hello Mr. XXX,
Thank you very much for your draft and your efforts. We have dealt with the draft in the past few days, let it sink in, and are now of the opinion that we should say goodbye to this draft/house appearance and rather focus on the "cube"/classic Bauhaus style. Otherwise, we would have to make too many compromises and we do not want to do that.
Attached are our notes/questions/comments:
[*]The staircase appears too dominant in this room concept (certainly sensible with a larger area, but as it is, the house suffers). Everything revolves around the staircase, and we need to change that. In our view, it takes up too much space and shatters the whole surrounding concept (single-flight straight staircase in the center).
[*]The room design feels a bit "unclean." It feels like we forced our room concept/our wishes into this house.
[*]I think we should start the other way around and first think about the room concept and then move on to the house design. I would even describe it like this: "We have a design based on a certain architecture on which we try to adjust our wishes in terms of the floor plan."
[*]The dressing room is still too narrow. With two wardrobes, we have a corridor of 75 cm here, so the dressing room is realistically only about 5 sqm.
[*]If the children's rooms are next to the bedroom, we should not forget the wall thickness.
[*]The bathroom is, in my view, not yet complete. When you enter the bathroom, you look directly at the toilet. We need to "interlock" it a bit more here. In the style of a T-bathroom?
[*]Is there any objection to dividing the large basement area?
[*]We do not like the guest WC directly next to the living room.
[*]We would like a sliding door in the kitchen.
[*]The dining room together with the kitchen now seems stretched to infinity, while the living room receives a very small part of the area.
[*]We must definitely redesign the staircase => two-flight staircase with a landing?
Attached I am sending you a ground floor plan which we found very logical and harmonious in terms of room layout/room concept, e.g.
[*]Guest WC rather "further away"
[*]Pantry directly adjacent to the kitchen
[*]Covered terrace through a protrusion
[*]Semi-open room concept living-dining area with a "spatially separated" living room
I think we should start over with the draft, the rooms have too many weaknesses from our point of view and it bothers us that we have to adapt ourselves to the house and not that the house arises from our wishes.
Attached we are sending you a picture that represents the appearance and possibly also a room concept as an incentive for how we could imagine it (knowing full well that this does not necessarily fit on our plot in this logic, but as an idea of how we would like to design the ground floor).
We also find this house very nice visually (classic flat roof, Bauhaus style, we can safely ignore the "connected" garage, but we like the covered terrace which is open on the other side at the same time and the cubic style).
We are happy to continue with this look and no longer pursue the two stacked cubes.
If you have questions, you can reach me or my wife by phone.
Have a nice evening and kind regards from XXX.
