Anyone you still have to tell that, in my opinion, is not yet ready to set up their own architectural firm. As you yourself already say:

The only relativization of his "fault" is the admission that you explained to him what you find schick – that was probably a vaccination with a wrong orientation against which he should have been immune. By benchmark as an "aspiration" I did not mean you, but him. And the cube again sounds like a starred chef: two menu suggestions, one of them vegetarian.

By the way, I also see 3m room width as a dimension to be surpassed if a room is not to become "half a room." And I also had to look twice to notice the change, as I actually expected a stair displacement to correct the widths of dining and living areas opposite each other.

We have now given him the following feedback, to which he responded today. Unfortunately, he had little time, but he briefly conferred with my wife. I would find it a pity if we don't continue with the draft... we sent him a floor plan that we found quite nice (Rensch-Haus). Let's see what he makes of it. The problem I see: the thing is 180m2 in size. No idea if and to what extent that is feasible with 160m2. In the worst case, we might have to increase the area again – which was advised against in this forum or as I understood, we don't need that much space. How that's supposed to work anyway (3m,...) is still unclear to me at the moment. Let’s see

I would put both the Dogma Hornbach style up for discussion and not replace the specification of a particular staircase form with another specific staircase form. The triangle family - property - budget already sufficiently directs the affairs - whether the house becomes a boy or a girl? - the main thing is healthy!

It doesn't matter. An architect has to live with the fact that the first or second draft is not approved. And if it becomes 180 sqm, ... if you can and want to afford it, go ahead. Maybe then you can do without the basement? Which draft from Rensch-Haus do you like? Maybe we can come up with something related?

Well, being able to perform is a tricky thing. I lack a) the gut feeling for the additional costs from 160 to 180 and b) the experience regarding the range of deviations

Here are the floor plans. They are not 100% what we would like (bedroom on the upper floor very narrow, technology in the ground floor, ...) but with the "interlocking" it is already going in our direction, especially because we do not want a completely open concept.
