From a distance, I'd say: if the original poster expressed this wish with "it would be nice to have a door between the bedroom area and the bathroom," then the architect can stay.
If the architect himself came up with this unnecessary concept, he can go.

Well, I actually expect an architect to point out to the client if a wish is nonsensical, or to explain what consequences it can have. Friends of mine originally wanted a fully covered terrace around two corners. The planner also said that it simply gets dark and that one side covered is enough.
