a) he wanted to push through his concept (cuboid, kitchen, ...), b) the disappointment that we only made progress in small steps, and c) that the floor plans here were so much better than those of the architect. That made us think.

a) That is certainly problematic, unless at the beginning you were unable to provide any or enough valid input, so that something came out, here then the cuboid. b) That will probably happen to you with architect xyz as well. c) That is also because many people here "brainstorm," the architect stews in his own juice and ponders how he can satisfy the customer. The first draft does not always have to produce 75% output.

How old was the architect approximately, just out of curiosity?

Sorry if I put it harshly and in a generalizing way. Sometimes I get the impression that you can write whatever you want here in the forum. There always comes a big wave of "criticism." This is not always justified, sometimes intrusive and even offensive. I believe it's also a kind of race to see who can drive away the questioner first, only to then complain that there are no more answers. Somehow, you almost always have to justify yourself. There are very good and helpful answers - but you have to filter precisely.
