I will quote as an example and because these were the most recent posts of that kind.
How many times does Kathi have to say that it’s only music that triggers her? How many times does she have to say that she was already in therapy and how many times does she have to say that what the neighbor is doing is objectively not wrong?
You have never had such problems, I assume, otherwise you wouldn’t keep harping on it.
Kathi, I can understand you very well. For me it tends more towards the pathological direction of misophonia, but that doesn’t change the fact that it is limiting. That you don’t go out because you know that disturbing noises could be or will be there. That you can hear nothing but these noises then. That you already do certain things with anxiety or don’t do them at all (for me it is for example traveling by train, cinema, theater, museum, swimming pool, etc.). When this also happens in your own home environment, even in the house you planned and built as a retreat, that’s bad, because... where else do you want to go then? I am very sorry that it hit you so unhappily.
Regarding subsidies in the BAFA guideline I found the following: "The subsidized system must be operated for its intended purpose for at least seven years. Operation for its intended purpose means that the subsidized systems are operated according to their intended use. In the event of a sale of the system, the purchaser must be informed of this obligation." Layman’s understanding: Point it out in the notary contract and you are safe.
I could completely understand if you sell again. The house is not your house, not your “domain”, but externally controlled. No amount of lack of understanding from forum members helps or all the “You have to expect that you are not alone in the world.”
I can totally relate to that … I also listened to noises coming into the house (doesn’t matter which ones) and it drives you crazy That the noise or the trigger determines whether you can lie down in the afternoon or not – or even take a bath.
Not everyone who experiences this is mentally ill …
I have dealt with the solution for a long time and unfortunately also with the question of guilt… the first would mean e.g. replacing windows or something like that, the latter was an endless loop like: why didn’t I pay better attention when building? It just destroyed me, everything, also with sleep disorders etc.
Yes, I can wear headphones myself, I also have noise-cancelling ones … but the anger that it is now how it is and that I am not free outweighed. But I am lucky that the disturbing noises concerned are only temporary and our neighbors are sometimes away in between so I can breathe then. 3-4 hours a day would also be way above my limit.
I will first try to cope … but with 3-4 hours and no solution I would also prefer my health over the house
