One more pragmatic thought on selling and buying: Where do you want to go to be safe from the neighbor's music? You will bring part of the problem with you. Changing neighbors, the risk situation remains high.

The house next to us is for sale. We would be happy to have quiet neighbors :D So far, the house has also been occupied by a quiet elderly couple, but 'in good condition' :) As a first-person shooter qualification, I can present Metro Last Light and Resident Evil.

Farmhouse in the countryside: tractor noise at all sorts of times, dogs barking, cats in heat, roosters crowing at sunrise... so finding something truly quiet won’t be that easy. They do exist here with us... also with fiber optic internet, but THOSE houses have now become completely overpriced.

She does say that it is only music that she cannot block out. One also does not expect to have neighbors who basically play music in the garden whenever they are outside. I also find garden and music strange outside of parties.

Well, I don't. Why not play music at a tolerable volume when sitting in the garden? That's more of a problem Kati has, since she is very sensitive to music. As a tip on the subject: Yes, it could certainly get expensive due to the early repayment penalty and lost subsidies. BUT it's your health and well-being. If you can't handle it and it makes you feel bad, you have to/should change something about this situation. To the best of my knowledge, you only have one life. I wouldn't want to be in a situation for years that heavily burdens me either.

We also want(ed) to sell. At least 10% I have to scrap with a switch, if it ever suffices. And basically, I can't get my better half down from the new-build standard anymore. He really let go of some nice existing buildings that would have been priced in the green zone. I am currently not searching intensively anymore. And it is true: Such a problem moves with you. Wishing you more luck in this matter! Gabriele
