The OP also tried that - unfortunately, building in the outdoor area is very restricted :-)

It depends. On Sundays and at certain times, quiet and room volume apply. And as the name suggests, room volume means you are not supposed to hear anything outside the room. Why should the person who is disturbed provide protection and not the one who is disturbing? And maybe then still have to stay inside the house? That is already a strange attitude.

We are going in circles. You talk about times when it is not allowed. I talk about times when it is allowed. And why should I stay in the house and not listen to music in the garden just because the neighbor is extremely sensitive to music volume?

And let’s not forget that if we start like this, there will be no good neighborly relationship. For example, if my neighbor receives guests on Sunday and listens to music louder, I don’t call the police, I let him listen. It’s give and take.

But we already had this discussion. It is just a mentality issue and in Poland, where I come from, people are actually more relaxed about noise because they are used to it

Um, did 's neighbor actually register here now? :p
In my opinion, both are somewhat right.
Music in the garden is okay when it happens here and there. When it's 30°C, the paddling pool is set up, and someone is visiting, you're sipping cocktails and having a good time, you can also put a Bluetooth speaker out and play some music. That can happen more often.
But anyone who plays music in the garden for hours every day out of routine is, in my opinion, not very neighborly.
Somehow, the much-cited common sense tells you that these are actions you only do with some consideration when it really fits.

It’s not about “now and then” or “only when guests are at some weekends.” I consider that commonly practiced and accepted.

It’s about whether one regularly or even constantly listens to music in the garden, which the neighbors inevitably have to hear.

It’s not about the legal right to do so, but whether one does it if one has manners. To that, a clear NO.

Here, the music listener would clearly be a disturber who intentionally turns on the disturbance (which distinguishes it from children).

Owning a house does not grant the right to do whatever you want in the garden.

I believe in the case of Kati's neighbor, it even happened that the music was playing in the garden while the neighbor was not walking, sitting, or standing in the garden - not even lying down... And that's where my fun and understanding stop.
