"He who heals is right" - if a therapy would help me, it could gladly be based on the work hypothesis "wrong" under aspects of guilt or justice, pretending for once that I am the "sick" one in the game. Questions of guilt are not solution-oriented, and some problems are just as effective at the receiver's end but easier to solve as at the sender's end, where the measures "belong."

It concerns neighbor noise, both parties live in detached houses, so the "linking" element is the open field between them - so one appropriately equips this with diffusers/adaptors. Curtains or similar at the OP are not pointless but probably negligibly "efficient." Counter sound would also be a measure, but that would get (r)eally complicated.

A soundproof wall over the entire length doesn’t come cheap. I mean, the OP has already gotten some quotes. The appearance is also another matter. Conversations with the neighbor have already taken place. Actually, there are only 3 options - soundproofing for real money with consultation and analysis and not just buying the cheapest online. Definitely not a visual highlight - learning to deal with the situation - moving away just post a wanted ad on Ebay and see who responds. Saw that yesterday on Ebay. Someone is looking for a small house to rent in a secluded location or with a large garden. Had to think of you there

Heavens, no! - The gaps or the spacing of the diffusers and absorbers are not a bug, but a feature. A neighbor and his radio are not a (motor)way.
I would first take the cheapest option and kindly ask the neighbor if he might help me to optimally align the stuff. That might make the penny drop for him. If I understood correctly, he is not antisocial, just (not yet) sensitive enough to its effect. I would hope to build on that.

So the mention of his still open legal disputes with ex-neighbors speaks rather for an obstinate contemporary with little insight (/retrospection). It remains for to hope that he may find a bit more empathy in himself in this new situation. I also don’t think the idea of coconut mats and gabions filled with soil and planted is bad. I hate the original gabions, but the green gabions like a moss picture I can imagine much better.

Say a post number for that – I was only called into the thread today and haven’t read the entire two dozen pages.

So I have the On Ear NC headphones from Bose and have to say I definitely prefer the Apple AirPods Pro

and yet they definitely manage to filter out everything that disturbs - awesome things
