Got the offer from the roofer today for the satellite preparation, i.e. the antenna passage tile and the antenna mast (90cm high for dishes up to 1.2m) for on-rafter mounting. Just under €100 net for the tile and about €220 net for the antenna mast, each including delivery and installation. The price for the antenna mast seems a bit steep to me (actually also for the tile).
Currently, IP TV is being used, which works great. Now I would like to keep the option of a satellite system open, or I'm considering maybe just taking the passage tile and installing the antenna mast later. Is there anything speaking against that? Is the mast harder to install later from the inside, i.e. from the attic? But then it would be difficult to mount the dish. Also, the mast would have to be on the northern roof side and extend over the ridge for a view to the south – are the 90cm even sufficient for that? I would rather not block the southern roof for a planned photovoltaic system.
Are there any tips for installing the satellite system differently? The house will get an ETICS, so mounting on the masonry is probably not optimal either. Especially since the cables somehow have to get back inside anyway. The idea was some kind of bracket on the eaves overhang on the gable side, or the roof box, to make it easier to run the cables inside.
Maybe someone has one or two other ideas on this?
Thank you very much!
