Is a satellite system still necessary in new buildings, or is IPTV sufficient?

Why do so many decide against it? Especially with new buildings, a satellite system costs hardly anything and provides "free" TV.

A Zattoo Premium subscription costs 8€ per month. With recording functions and the private channels in HD. No initial investment and no sensitivity to the weather.
You also get Magenta TV without a Telekom connection for 8€.
You have to stream Sky via their app.

I would pay money not to have to watch "free TV". Watching some Z-listers on Pro7 playing silly games? Or having someone explain to me how emotional the singing performance of casting contestant 0815 was? Terrible... On the other hand, you would just shake your head if you evaluated my Twitch consumption.

Sat TV pays for itself incredibly quickly.

For me, it would have been 15 years if Sat Investment vs. monthly fees for a streaming service were compared. However, streaming already includes HD for the private channels, which costs extra on SAT. If you also take that into account, the payback period is >30 years.
