Is a satellite system still necessary in new buildings, or is IPTV sufficient?

We have now received a 100 Mbps VDSL line, but there are also excessive power users connected to it. This sometimes causes the line stability to be poor, and the [well hidden between the two gable roofs on the flat roof section] satellite dish provides relief. Watching TV just works.

If you don't like metal dishes, you can also take a look at Selfsat. They are significantly smaller than comparable dishes with the same performance. I had one for 10 years at my old rental apartment because nothing else worked on the balcony railing. Not a single failure, and it wasn't just once that snow lay on it or a storm passed by. I will install something like that on my house as well. Extremely inconspicuous, can be painted and stickered, and there are also versions with Unicable. More than sufficient for the 1-2 times a week when TV is actually watched.

I would mount the satellite dish somewhere where it is simply easy anyway. On the roof, with tiles and empty conduit etc. would not please me. Here the dish hangs under the eaves on the house wall, a small hole was drilled and led into the house, that's it. I also like the solution from untergasse43. That keeps the costs for the crap on the TV correspondingly low and shows that there are also cheap solutions. I would confidently exclude the TV picture failing occasionally. That maybe happens 1-2 times a year and when it happens, you just go to bed earlier or wait 10 minutes until it works again...

I haven't read all 22 pages yet, but what if you want to use, for example, Sky? They don't have anything running via IPTV yet, do they? I mean, you have to choose between cable or SAT receiver.

And how did you handle the roof installation after the new building? Did you do it yourself? The companies I want to hire all tell me they don't go onto a new roof because of the warranty, it could cause trouble with the roofer.

that was once. Sat, cable or IPTV, here the customer is king, he may choose freely.

Apparently, however, only for customers of Telekom and Vodafone if I see that correctly?!
